Vucic's second presidential term ends in 2027, but another loyalist is more likely to serve as premier if a vacancy opens first.
- A Putin-Medvedev style swap in 2027 requires no other PM taking office before him, but SNS reshuffles frequently install loyalists.
- Vucic exercises dominant control regardless of title, making a direct PM return risky when allies like Sinisa Mali can hold the post.
- An early parliamentary election or Vucevic resignation that installs any intermediate premier before Vucic immediately breaks this.

It turns on whether Vučić chooses to leave the presidency before 2027 and can assemble a new Assembly-backed cabinet.
- Serbia’s next regular parliamentary election is due by December 2027, though a snap election or government collapse could accelerate succession.
- A president returning as premier is legally possible, but it requires resignation or expiration of his presidential mandate and a deliberate SNS strategy shift.
- Incumbent presidents rarely surrender executive control early; a confirmed plan to run an SNS parliamentary list would sharply raise the odds.

Vucic staying president through 2027 makes a switch to PM improbable without crisis.
- He must first resign the presidency; SNS has no incentive unless it loses the Assembly.
- Next regular parliamentary vote is 2027; if SNS holds, a loyalist remains PM.
- Post-2000 Balkan presidents almost never become PM; only a snap loss or health shock would raise odds.

Vucic returning to PM requires him to vacate the presidency and a compliant Assembly to confirm him before the deadline.
- Vucic has held the presidency since 2017 and has shown no sign of trading it for the PM post he already held 2014-2017.
- Serbia's next regular parliamentary elections are due by 2028, and snap polls are likelier than a Vucic PM restoration.
- The one trigger would be a constitutional or party crisis forcing him to formally lead a government, which no current reporting indicates.

Constitutional bar on dual office and no credible signal Vučić will resign the presidency to take a subordinate role.
- Serbia's constitution prohibits the president from holding another public office; Vučić's term runs to 2027, so he'd need to resign first.
- Vučić has consistently used the presidency as his power base since 2017, delegating PM duties to loyalists (Brnabić, Vučević) rather than occupying the role himself.
- Would move sharply higher only if SNS signals a constitutional amendment or Vučić publicly announces a resignation timeline—neither has materialized.

Resolves by Oct 25 2026, far too soon for Vucic to constitutionally shift from President to PM.
- Vucic is serving as elected President until 2027; Serbian constitution bars holding both offices simultaneously, so he'd need to resign first.
- No credible reporting indicates an imminent resignation or National Assembly vote to install him as PM within this ~12-day window.
- Window is extremely narrow (Oct 13-25, 2026), making any major political transition in this specific timeframe highly unlikely absent current signals.
