Hinges on whether IG even qualifies/advances deep into a ~20+ team Worlds field by Nov 14, 2026.

    • Worlds field has 16-20+ teams; baseline title odds for any single team are roughly 5-8% even if strong.
    • IG's recent international form has been inconsistent, not a clear top-3 favorite like T1 or Gen.G this cycle.
    • Resolution date Oct 29 is mid-tournament, so IG's run/seed could shift this but no indication of dominant form yet.

IG must already be in the 2026 Worlds field and then win three knockout series.

    • LPL Worlds slots and Swiss/knockout seeding were locked before 15 Oct; IG has not been a consistent top-4 LPL side since 2019.
    • A non-favorite Chinese team’s historical Worlds win rate after Swiss is under 8 percent; IG sits below that bar.
    • Only an unexpected Swiss run plus two Bo5 upsets against current LCK/LPL elites would move the number.

IG must beat multiple tournament favorites in Bo5s; they are not among the top contenders.

    • IG hasn't reached a Worlds final since winning 2018, and no LPL team has won since EDG in 2021.
    • The 2026 field is led by Gen.G, T1, BLG and JDG; IG would need to win three straight Bo5s against that tier.
    • IG's roster lacks a top-two seed from LPL, so they enter as a mid-tier contender, well below the ~15-20% a top seed carries.

Invictus Gaming lacks the tier-one roster and financial backing required to overcome LPL and LCK heavyweights to win Worlds 2026.

    • IG has struggled in the lower tier of the LPL for multiple splits and failed to qualify for international events since 2019.
    • Worlds titles are heavily monopolized by top-tier LCK and LPL squads like T1, Gen.G, and BLG, leaving fringe teams near-zero equity.
    • A massive roster overhaul with elite superstar signings ahead of the 2026 season would be the only development to shift these odds.

IG would need an extraordinary run through an LPL field and then Worlds, despite not being a current elite favorite.

    • Worlds winners almost always come from a small pre-event contender tier; a single named non-favorite has a very low prior.
    • IG must first secure an LPL berth, then survive Swiss and knockout play before Riot declares a champion by November 28.
    • I would raise this sharply only if IG enters October 2026 as an LPL top-two seed with a proven star roster.

iG has not been a top-4 LPL team since 2019 and almost certainly did not qualify for Worlds 2026.

    • iG finished mid-to-lower table in LPL 2024 and 2025; the four LPL Worlds slots went to teams like BLG, JDG, TES, and LNG in recent years.
    • Even if iG somehow qualified as a 4th seed, no 4th-seed LPL team has won Worlds; the bracket by late October would pit them against T1 or Gen.G.
    • A development that would change this: confirmation that iG is still alive in the knockout stage, which I have not seen evidence of.
