A new White House Press Secretary is announced by November 30, 2026.
The Trump administration may replace its press secretary. This resolves positive if an official non-interim successor to Katie Zacharia is named by November 30.
Across 6 frontier models answering independently, the panel thinks this is unlikely: the median is 18%.
They broadly agree, 22 points between Grok at 28% and Claude at 6%.

Trump must name a permanent successor to Zacharia in the next six weeks.
- Press secretaries last 12-24 months on average; a Jan-2025 start puts her at the typical swap window, yet no credible leak exists as of 19 Oct.
- White House personnel moves require Trump sign-off plus vetting; six weeks is short without an already-chosen candidate.
- A sudden public clash or leak of a named replacement would raise the odds sharply; silence until Thanksgiving keeps them low.

Six-week window is short, but context hints at active consideration and the role's tenure is already long.
- Press secretaries average ~18 months; Zacharia at ~22 months is past the median, raising departure odds above baseline.
- The context's phrasing ('may replace') suggests internal deliberation but no confirmed timeline, so an announcement in 42 days is possible but not imminent.
- A single credible leak naming a successor would spike this to 60+; absent that, most replacements are announced with little public warning.

It hinges on whether Trump treats the role as needing a permanent reset rather than simply retaining Zacharia through year-end.
- A qualifying result needs a public White House appointment by November 30, leaving only about six weeks for a personnel decision.
- Press-secretary turnover can occur abruptly, but administrations often use acting arrangements or defer replacements when no vacancy is forced.
- Odds would rise sharply if Zacharia resigns, is removed, or credible reporting identifies a named finalist before mid-November.

This turns on whether Trump decides to replace Zacharia in the next six weeks, not on any pending process.
- Trump fired Karoline Leavitt in July 2025 and named Zacharia; he has cycled through staff rapidly, with high turnover among senior aides.
- No successor chatter has surfaced in reporting, and six weeks is a short window for a non-interim announcement absent a scandal or resignation.
- If Zacharia departs or is fired in the next month, an announcement becomes near-certain; otherwise the base rate of unforced press-secretary changes inside a six-week…

Replacement requires Trump to fire or reassign Zacharia and name a permanent successor within an exceptionally tight six-week window.
- A window of just 42 days leaves very little time to initiate, vet, and formally announce a permanent non-interim replacement.
- Midterm season in late 2026 incentivizes maintaining communication stability rather than disrupting the podium team.
- Credible reports of Zacharia being actively sidelined or resigning would be the only development shifting odds meaningfully upward.

No signal Zacharia is departing soon; press secretary turnover is rare and unannounced by late October.
- No public reporting indicates Zacharia is leaving or being replaced as of Oct 19, 2026.
- Press secretary changes are infrequent events, typically tied to major scandal or staff shakeup, none evident now.
- Only ~6 weeks remain, requiring both a departure decision and a named permanent successor within that window.

Resolution criteria
This market will resolve to "Yes" if Donald Trump or the Trump administration announces a new White House Press Secretary to replace Katie Zacharia between market creation and the specified date, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". An individual announced as an acting or interim Press Secretary will not qualify toward this market's resolution. Any qualifying announcement made within this market's time frame will count, regardless of when the new Press Secretary is sworn in or begins serving. This market's primary resolution source will be official information from the Trump administration; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
