Only ~15 days left; Houthis haven't broken current frontlines toward Aden despite years of stalemate.

    • Aden has been held by anti-Houthi/STC-aligned forces since 2015 with front lines stable for years, so a sudden breakthrough in 15 days is unlikely.
    • No current reporting indicates an active Houthi offensive toward Aden proper as of mid-September 2026, and such operations would require visible troop buildups first.
    • A sudden Saudi-Houthi escalation or coalition collapse enabling a rapid southern push is the main scenario that would change this, but no signs of that are evident.

It turns on whether the Houthis can rapidly breach multiple southern front lines and reach Aden within 16 days.

    • Houthis would need to launch and sustain a major ground offensive through STC- and government-held territory before September 30.
    • Aden has stayed outside Houthi control since their 2015 expulsion; no recent pattern supports a sudden advance to its core districts.
    • I would raise this sharply on verified Houthi breakthroughs toward Lahij or Abyan, or collapse of southern anti-Houthi defenses.

Houthi forces are ~300km from Aden and have never breached the city's front lines since 2015.

    • Houthi front lines sit in Bayda, Marib, and Taiz; Aden is held by UAE-backed STC forces with Saudi air cover.
    • Any push needs months of ground advance through Shabwa and Abyan, and only 15 days remain before resolution.
    • Base rate for Houthi entry into Aden in any 15-day window since 2015 is near zero; the 2022 truce and 2025 standoff never produced a southern breakthrough.

Houthis would need to break through multiple fortified front lines and cross ~150 km of contested territory in 15 days.

    • The Aden front lines near Al-Dhali and Lahj have been largely static since 2018; no major Houthi offensive south has succeeded in that period.
    • A rapid advance to Aden would require collapsing STC/PLF defenses, which are well-entrenched and backed by UAE logistics—no such collapse is underway.
    • Only a sudden political fracture among southern forces (e.g., STC infighting) opening a corridor would meaningfully raise this, and no such signal exists as of…

Houthis punching through STC-held territory into Aden city itself in 15 days.

    • Front lines sit well north of Aden; no reported Houthi push into Lahij or Abyan as of mid-September.
    • Houthis last held Aden in 2015 and were expelled; they have not mounted a southern coastal offensive since.
    • A sudden collapse of STC/UAE-backed defenses would be required, which has no precedent in this short window.

Houthis are separated from Aden by heavily fortified STC lines in Lahij and cannot conquer 50km in 15 days.

    • Resolution date is roughly two weeks away, leaving zero operational window for an offensive across Lahij and Abyan.
    • Southern Transitional Council and Coalition-backed units maintain dense defensive perimeters north of Dar Sad.
    • A massive, sudden collapse of the entire southern defense belt is the only path and has no recent precedent.

Resolution criteria

This market will resolve to "Yes" if Houthi military forces enter any part of Aden, Yemen by the specified date, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". "Houthi military forces" refers to the military forces of the Houthi movement (Ansar Allah), including any armed force operating under its direction or on its behalf. "Aden" refers to the following districts of Aden Governorate, Yemen: Craiter (Sirah), At Tawahi, Al Mualla, Khur Maksar, Ash Shaikh Outhman, Dar Sad, and Al Mansura. Al Buraiqeh district (Little Aden) is excluded and entry into Al Buraiqeh alone will not qualify. Bombardment, sabotage, naval presence offshore, or temporary disruption of activity will not qualify on their own. An announcement, threat, or claim of Houthi entry will not qualify without actual entry being established. The entrance of Houthi emissaries for the purpose of negotiating an agreement or other diplomatic or commercial endeavors will not alone qualify. In the event of genuine ambiguity, this market
