CDU or SPD leading polls; Die Linke surging but still trailing frontrunners as of election eve.
- Recent Berlin polling has consistently placed CDU first, with SPD/Die Linke/Greens competing for 2nd-4th.
- Die Linke has gained since 2023 due to local popularity in Berlin but base rate for a party overtaking an incumbent frontrunner in days before election is low.
- A late polling shock or major CDU/SPD collapse is the only path, and no evidence of that as of Sept 17.

Die Linke would need a last-minute citywide polling surge large enough to overtake the CDU and SPD in seats.
- Berlin’s 2023 repeat election put CDU first with 52 seats; Die Linke won 22, far from plurality territory.
- Seat plurality follows party vote and district wins, so Die Linke must beat better-positioned CDU/SPD statewide on September 20.
- A credible final poll showing Die Linke leading Berlin’s second-vote share would sharply raise this estimate.

Linke plurality requires a last-minute surge past CDU/SPD that no recent Berlin poll or 2023 result supports.
- CDU held 52 seats in the 2023 repeat; Linke 22. Three days out, only a polling error larger than any German state election since 2017 would invert that.
- Berlin’s East-West split and 5% threshold historically cap Linke at 12-16%; they have never led a post-1990 Abgeordnetenhaus.
- A CDU or SPD collapse plus Green-Linke vote transfer would be needed; neither is visible in the final campaign week.

Linke would need to roughly triple its 2023 Berlin result to top a field where it has never led.
- Berlin's 2021 and 2023 rerun elections saw SPD win with ~21-28%, Linke hovered at 9-12% — a threefold gap, not a close race.
- Red-red-green coalitions exist but seat pluralities require Linke to roughly double its vote while SPD, CDU and Greens each fall below ~15%, with no poll in 2025-26…
- Even with Berlin's leftward tilt and unpopular CDU-led Senate, Linke's ceiling is second place; the decisive shift would be a nationwide SPD collapse below 12% before…

Die Linke polls around 10-13% in Berlin, far behind SPD, CDU, and Greens who each poll in the mid-to-high teens or above.
- Die Linke has never won a plurality in Berlin; their best result was 22.6% in 2009, and current polling puts them well below that.
- CDU and SPD have been polling in the 18-24% range in Berlin, making it nearly impossible for Die Linke to overtake them in three days.
- The only scenario would be a catastrophic polling miss combined with a last-minute collapse of multiple larger parties simultaneously.

Die Linke trails the CDU, Greens, and SPD by wide margins in Berlin polling, made worse by vote-splitting with BSW.
- Die Linke won just 12.2% of the vote in Berlin's 2023 repeat election and has historically never achieved a plurality there.
- The emergence of the Bündnis Sahra Wagenknecht caps Die Linke's ceiling well below the ~25-28% required to edge out the CDU.
- A plurality victory would require a catastrophic collapse of both the CDU and the Greens alongside an unprecedented surge for Linke.
